It’s the last day of January. The month opened with such optimism and hope for the New Year, only to end with a silent, cold trepidation.
Last week, our dog passed away. Today, a family friend lost his long battle with cancer. A sudden death or a prolonged death – the sadness is still the same. And those of us left behind need to find our way through somehow and adapt to our new sense of normal.
I am unsure of what to expect for the rest of the year, or if having expectations is reasonable since only the universe knows what the day will bring. Change is the only constant variable, so adjusting, adapting and perhaps working to being about positive changes are our best options.
So, here’s to a better tomorrow.
