The Why and How

Frederick Nietzsche once said, ‘He who has a why can endure any how.’

It’s a sentiment that’s been repeated by many people, and something I’ve been mediating on all day.  Though, I’ve slept most of the time (still sick) so I haven’t gathered my thoughts for a proper post on the subject.

Knowing and having a why; the basic question of why are we here?  We ask ourselves that all the time.

The question of how are we to live, how can we live – well, that probably ventures into deeper realms of religion, philosophy and ethics.

Oddly enough, writers are supposed to know those answers when it comes to their characters, but are probably more ambivalent when it comes to the reality of their lives (okay, I speak for myself).

At any rate, I’ll finish – or start/continue this post tomorrow.
